A U.S. Virgin Islands Wedding

The Virgin Islands of the United States, commonly called the United States Virgin Islands or USVI, are a group of islands in the Caribbean that are an insular area of the United States. They consist of the main islands of Saint Croix, Saint John, and Saint Thomas, along with other smaller islands. They lie 40 miles east of Puerto Rico and immediately west of the British Virgin Islands.

The U.S. Virgin Islands is a paradise location for a Caribbean wedding with so much more to offer than the traditional beach environment. Visitors attending a U.S. Virgin Islands wedding who wish to immerse themselves in a profound cultural experience can enjoy historical tours, culinary encounters, artisan fairs, parades, storytelling and other special presentations.

Saint Croix is the largest of the islands and has a flatter terrain. It offers endless opportunities for eco-adventure and cultural exploration. From visiting historic Fort Frederik and following the Heritage Trail to hiking the rainforest and wading in secluded tidal pools, there is much on Saint Croix that awaits discovery. Saint Croix is also rich with artists with Christiansted being home to many galleries.

A Saint John wedding may well be the perfect venue for you. It is the smallest of the islands but many say it is the prettiest because of its world-class beaches. It is also home to some of the Caribbean's most luxurious resorts. Two-thirds of the island is the Virgin Islands National Park.

There are many places to dine on Saint John ranging from chic and expensive to funky beachside food stands. After dark the island comes alive with hotel and villa guests seeking out one of the island's cozy and romantic restaurants. A great environment for your Saint John wedding.

Saint Thomas has two well-known cities, Charlotte Amalie, the capital city which is also referred to as downtown, and Red Hook, also referred to as the East End. Charlotte Amalie has nearly 300 jewelry and other stores that cater to the cruise ship passengers who dock there, while Red Hook has more nightlife and activities. Guests attending your Saint Thomas wedding will delight in the wide variety of restaurants available.

Charlotte Amalie Harbor is one of the most beautiful harbors to be found anywhere. There are always a lot of sailboats and yachts moored there, with windmills spinning away. It's ringed by hills and when there are several cruise ships docked it can be quite a sight to be enjoyed by the wedding party attending your Caribbean wedding.
