Most romantic spots in Barbados

Barbados was made for lovers. The sunny days, balmy nights and miles of postcard-perfect beachfront have made this a paradise for honeymooners. Escape to a deserted stretch of sand or join the crowd for some late night club-hopping. The range of choices on Barbados means that there’s always plenty to do, unless you just want to kick back under a swaying palm and do nothing at all.

  • Harrison’s Cave is a natural wonder that’s even more wonderful when shared with the one you love. A unique phenomenon of nature, the cave is an amazing gallery of stalactites and stalagmites with water that cascades into deep emerald-green pools.
  • Take your lover’s hand and recruit seven other couples because that’s how many people it will take to circle the circumference of the famous Baobab tree in Queen’s Park in Bridgetown. The tree is more than 1,000 years old and a sight you won’t long forget.
  • Your love will undoubtedly go down in history, just as St. Nicholas Abbey in St. Peter and Drax Hall in St. George already have. As two of the three remaining “Jacobean Mansions” left in the Western hemisphere, they’re worthy of a visit.
  • The splendor and beauty of the Flower Forest make this an especially romantic location with commanding views of Barbados’ Scotland district. Be sure to stop and smell the sweet fragrance of tropical flora that surrounds you as you tour the grounds.
  • You’ll feel like you’re floating on cloud nine when you rent a raft and float along the calm waters of the western coast with your lover beside you.
  • A candlelit dinner for two along the Careenage waterfront is a tranquil end to a sun-filled day of adventures.
  • Stop off at as many rum shops as you can find for a sampling tour and a guaranteed memorable time.
  • The Reggae Lounge in St. Lawrence Gap is an open-air nightclub where couples dance the night away under the stars in a lush, tropical setting. Hold each other tight as you sway to the sounds of calypso, reggae, jazz and rhythm and blues.
  • Explore the Arbib Nature and Heritage Trail together before settling down for a romantic picnic in the mysterious Whim Gully.
