Nightlife in Martinique

  • Nightclubs are everywhere, but tend to be very expensive – about $12 to get in and the same price for a drink, whether you order orange juice or a gin and tonic.
  • Casinos charge a $10 entrance fee if you are not staying at the hotel.
  • There are several piano bars and theater cafes where you can listen to various types of music. Most resorts plan Caribbean-style evenings of entertainment, including limbo dancers and steelbands.
  • For those craving other cultural entertainment, the Ballet Martiniquais is one of the world’s most prestigious ballet companies. They wear colorful local costumes and are accompanied by traditional island rhythms.
  • Every year in July, SERMAC organizes a two-week arts festival in Fort-de-France with local and foreign artists performing plays and dances. CMAC (Centre Martiniquais d’Action Culturelle) organizes plays, concerts, films and documentaries all year round as well as an annual festival in December.
  • Le Zanzibar is a popular nightlife disco featuring music and drink.
  • For a more laid back experience, stop in to the St. James Jazz Club.
  • The Cotton Club is Martinique’s newest nightlife spot. Featuring an assortment of music such as jazz, zouk, and traditional island music like beguine, there is sure to be something for everyone.
