Legal requirements for getting married in Grenada

Formal, casual, indoors or under the sun – the choice is yours when you tie the knot on the island of Grenada.

It will take three days to obtain the license, which requires the presentation of passports and birth certificates.

A deed poll is also required if either party has had a name change. Additionally, proof of divorce or a death certificate is required in the event that either party is divorced or was formerly wed to a now-deceased spouse.

Finally, proof of single status must be presented, i.e. a letter from an attorney stating that both parties have the right to wed. No blood tests are required. The cost of the license US $167 and other fees is around $15.00. If under the age of 21, written parental consent is required for marriage. All documents provided must be written in or translated to English.
