Island adventures in Belize

  • St. Herman's Blue Hole National Park is a must see for visitors. The natural phenomena was created by a collapsed karst sinkhole with water from the Sibun River. The water is a gorgeous blue and the area is a historic gem as it was once used by the Mayan Indians.
  • For a wildlife experience unlike any other, couples can travel to the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary just 30 miles northwest of Belize City. The area is a preserve for migrant birds and consists of lagoons, swamps and waterways.
  • The Five Blue Lake National Park is a pristine wonder that shows the country's beauty and landscaping in a picturesque setting. The park includes cave systems and over 4,000 acres of lush tropical rainforest.
  • For couples who enjoy a thrilling aquatic adventure, Shark Ray Alley is sure to be experience they won't forget. Only five miles southeast of Pedro Town, Shark Ray Alley gives travelers a chance to swim and visit with Shark and Southern Sting Rays. The water is eight feet deep and crystal clear which allows swimmers an up-close view of these unique ocean creatures.
  • History buffs won't want to miss a visit to one of the many Mayan sites in Belize. Caracol is the largest Mayan site known in Belize and one of the most accessible. Caracol is also surrounded by the beautiful landscaping of Belize which adds to the monument's mystique.

  • Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary is at the base of the Mayan mountains and covers approximately 100,000 square feet of tropical wilderness. The sanctuary was first opened to protect the Jaguar population and has since become a sanctuary for many other forms of wildlife.
  • Take a journey to a land of Mayan rule while on horseback. The Mennonites of Blue Creek arranges horseback rides where couples can view unexcavated Mayan mounds  through the country's farmlands.
